ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

The 4th Latin American Workshop on Cliques in Graphs was held on November 16-19th, 2010 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The workshop is meant to foster interaction between the latin american graph theory and combinatory researchers, whose research interests include cliques, clique graphs, and the behavior of cliques and related issues. The official languages are English, Portuguese and Spanish.

General Information

The expenses regarding accommodation and meals during the workshop will be covered by the Workshop. There is a registration fee: R$ 100,00 (One hundred reais) for professors R$ 80,00 (Eighty reais) for students, to be paid when checking in at the registration desk. Please note that the payment must be done in reais, the Brazilian currency.

It is very important to understand that the Workshop will be held at a Military Installation Centro General Ernani Ayrosa - CGEA, and that it is mandatory that the check-in is done not before Tuesday morning, November 16th, 2010.

Publications

We are delighted to announce that the proceedings of the workshop were published by Matematica Contemporanea. All participants were invited to submit an extended abstract that was refereed and possibly selected for publication in the proceedings, volume 39, 2010.

A special issue of refereed full papers of the Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society (published by Springer-Verlag) was published in volume 18, Issue 2, 2012.

Where to stay in Rio before or after the workshop

It might be a little harder than usual to find hotels in Rio around the time of the workshop, because the workshop is right after the long weekend of November 15th (a holiday in Brazil). We sugest you try internet hotel booking services, such as Booking.com and Hotel.com.br.

Getting to Itaipava

We recommend you plan to arrive in Rio at or before November 15th.

Bus transportation will be available from UFRJ(Campus Fundao, by NCE) on November 16th. The bus will arrive at UFRJ at 8:15am, and the bus will leave at 9:00am sharp. On the way back, the bus should arrive at UFRJ on November 19th around noon. If you are coming to UFRJ by a regular bus, say, bus number 485, from Copacabana, you should get off the bus at the " CT stop".

The two-way trip will cost 20,00 reais, and you must inform us if you intend to take this bus or not, so we can make proper arrangements.

Since the workshop will take place at a millitary installation, you must either take this bus with the whole group, or we must leave your name and approximate time of your arrival at their gate. Please inform us about your decision regarding transportation by sending an e-mail to lawcliques@cos.ufrj.br

Extra Guests

Please remember this is not a regular hotel, and it is extremely difficult to host extra guests. There are no closeby accomodations either.
