The first Latin American Workshop on Cliques in Graphs was held in Rio de Janeiro in 2002, and was born in honor to Jayme Szwarcfiter in his sixty birthday. Ten years has passed since then, and this time we have the great pleasure to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the workshop along with Jayme’s 70th birthday.

Since its origin, the workshop is meant to foster interaction between the Latin-American graph theory and combinatorics researchers, whose interests include cliques, clique graphs, the behavior of cliques, and related issues. This is the fifth edition of this workshop, after
