The hotel is located 47 km from Fortaleza International Airport.
The Federal University of Ceará conceded a bus to bring LAWCG 2024 participants from the International Airport of Fortaleza to the Jangadeiro Praia Hotel on Sunday October 20th, where the event will occur, and also to bring them back on Wednesday 23th, free of charge. To request a place in a bus to the organizing team, participants must fill this Google Form until September 30th. The bus has limited capacity, thus requests will be treated by the organizing team, with priority to those who fill the form first. There will be four trips:
To go:
- Sunday October 20th at 1 pm
- Sunday October 20th at 5 pm
To come back:
- Wednesday October 23th at 5 pm
- Wednesday October 23th at 8 pm
The opening cocktail is expected to start at 7:30 pm on Sunday. The workshop shall end 4:30 pm on Wednesday. The full program will be delivered early October, when the subscriptions end. The trip from airport to the hotel takes around 1 hour. Longer duration should be expected in hours of higher traffic.
We ask the participants to fill more than one option in the form whenever it is feasible for them, so that the organizing team can give some priority for those who may have a flight arriving/leaving after/before.
The organizing team will provide the list of accepted requests with the corresponding passengers of each bus by October 5th.
Participants that cannot (or prefer not to) take one of these buses are encouraged to book their own transportation to the hotel/airport. The hotel suggested the following contact for taxi:

Etinho and his colleagues charge 150 BRL for a trip from Fortaleza to the Jangadeiro Praia hotel, regardless if leaving from the airport, or the main touristic area of Fortaleza (Avenida Beira Mar). Their cars carry up to 7 people, the driver plus 6 passengers. We encourage the participants to use our WhatsApp group if they want to share transportation with other participants. We emphasize that the cost is for the trip, regardless the number of passengers, not by person.
Participants that prefer to hire a taxi at the airport, we strongly suggest to use one of the authorized companies and to not accept offers from random non-identified people at the airport’s hall. Uber is a good option to be used in the city center of Fortaleza, but it might be hard to find a Uber driver willing to go to the hotel of the event thanks to the distance.
Local information
The event will take place at Praia do Presídio, Aquiraz, Ceará, Brazil. The beach has such name due to a prison built by the portuguese colonizers to enclose dutch invasors in the 17th century.

The most famous touristic attraction in Aquiraz is Beach Park, one of the largest Water Park in Latin America with 200.000 m².
Aquiraz is part of the metropolitan area of Fortaleza, the 4th largest city in Brazil with over than 2.7 million people, having over 4.1 million people living in its metropolitan area and being the capital of Ceará.
Fortaleza, whose name is also linked to the Dutch invasions thanks to a fortress built at that time, has touristic attractions for all tastes. One can find nice historical buildings as the city Cathedral in neo-gotic style and Theatro José de Alencar, places to buy local craftwork like Mercado Central and CeArt, besides several parks, squares, museums worth visiting.
Visitors should also enjoy several bars and restaurants in Fortaleza. On Thursdays many restaurants have special prices for seafood. Local specialities as Baião, Carne de Sol, Feijão Verde, etc. are strongly advised. Brazilians can also enjoy comedy spectacles in the city.
The whole coast of Ceará has amazing beaches. Those preferring to avoid huge cities can visit other beaches in Ceará, being Jericoacoara and Canoa Quebrada the most famous ones. Many tourists practice all varieties of sea-wind sports, as Ceará has strong winds during the whole year.
